Become D.I.S.T.I.N.C.

 

Membership is a solemn commitment and Brotherhood is an eternal bond. To this organization, the maker of the commitment becomes synonymous with the commitment itself. Membership in Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., Incorporated is a lifelong dedication to the mission and ideas of the organization. Members should not let personal goals supersede those of the organization.

Undergraduate Membership Requirements



Any candidate of good character is eligible for undergraduate membership in Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., Incorporated provided that:

  • The candidate is matriculating at a college, university, or military school approved by the Committee on Education and Ethical Practices (CEEP) as a student pursuing work leading to an Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree hours or 27-quarter hours at a college or university;
  • The candidate has completed at least 15 semester Ethical Practices (CEEP) approved by the Committee on Education; and
  • The candidate has submitted a profile to the chapter and has a transcript from the appropriate college, university, or military school and the transcript must show that the person has attained a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or 1.75 on a 3.0 scale.
  • The candidate has been approved for membership by a simple majority vote of the financial members of the chapter present.
  • The candidate has been approved for membership by the Regional Director.
  • The candidate is not a member of any society except those of honorary, professional, fraternal, Masonic or national fraternities approved by the Graduate/Professional Ethics and Protocol Committee.
  • The candidate meets all National Requirements.
  • Any candidate(s) three (3) of noble character who is enrolled in a college, university, or military school where there is no chapter is eligible for membership in Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., Incorporated provided that the candidate meets all applicable requirements for undergraduate membership as stated in ARTICLE I-SECTION 3-A, Undergraduate Membership.


Alumni Membership Requirements


Alumni & Professional Chapters may invite candidates to membership in Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., Incorporated provided that each candidate so invited:

  • The candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university, or military school
  • The candidate has submitted a profile to the chapter and has a transcript from the appropriate collège, university, or military school and the transcript must show that the candidate has attained a minimum grade point average of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale.
  • The candidate is not a member of any society except those of honorary, professional, fraternal Masonic or national fraternities, approved by the Graduate/Professional Ethics and Protocol Committee.
  • The candidate has been approved for membership by a simple majority vote of the financial members of the chapter present.
  • The candidate has been approved for membership by the Regional Director.


Professional Membership Requirements



Alumni & Professional Chapters may invite candidates to membership in Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., Incorporated provided that each candidate so invited:

  • The candidate is currently employed with a professional career and/or professional in nature, own a business, have certifications not obtained in a college, university, or military school.
  • The candidate is not a member of any society except those of honorary, professional, fraternal Masonic or national fraternities, approved by the Graduate/Professional Ethics and Protocol Committee.
  • The candidate has been approved for membership by a simple majority vote of the financial members of the chapter present.
  • The candidate has been approved for membership by the Regional Director.
